First there was the portable radio, then the walkman, then the cd player, and finally the mp3 player. These four devices allow us to listen to our favorite songs no matter where we are, and in the case of the latter 3, no matter what country we’re in. So, how does the newest product in this line of portable music fare in my eyes? Read on to find out.

A few weeks ago I said I would be discussing RE4 speed runs. However, for this week’s Yay or Nay, I’ve decided to cover speed runs as a whole, not just the RE4 versions. So what are speed runs, anyway? Well, as their name implies, speed runs are simple playthroughs of a certain game with the shortest final time possible. The games I’ve recently seen speed run’d are RE4, XCOM 1 (will discuss this awesome game sometime next week), and Fallout 1. The latter two are tactical squad-based PC games from way back, and Fallout was completed in 9 minutes (freaking amazing). So, what are the pros and cons to such a run? Read on to find out. (more…)

While I was thinking about a good Yay or nay subject today, I came up with many subjects, including Cake, Robots, Gmail, Gundam, and for a few seconds I even contemplated Yay or Nay: Yay or Nay. However, I discarded these options, and instead went with a genre of video games, Strategy games. Note that I’m talking about turn-based, unit based strategy games, not RTS games. Let the fun begin!

Today’s Friday, so here we are looking at the pros and cons of yet another very important part of society: Online Gaming. If you own a PC, PS2, or XBOX, then chances are you’ve played a game online. If you’re a GameCube owner, then you might not have done it yet unless you’re a Phantasy Star-er. We’ll go over last-gen online gaming, new-gen online gaming, and PC online gaming. Enjoy!

Today we look at the highly controversial (okay, maybe not that highly) issue of FAQs. I’m not talking about Frequently Asked Questions, I’m talking about using a guide/walkthrough/hint sheet, etc. in the completion of a game. The biggest source of these files can be found at GameFAQs.com So, is it unethical to use a guide, or does it, in fact, enhance the experience? Read on to find out.
