Yeah, I know, don’t end your sentences in a preposition, whatever. Anyways, I’ve been looking around, and I’ve come up with a list of games that are worthy of a purchase. I do know, however, that I have my money spent for a very long time, so the first chance I’ll have to even think about getting these games will be some time next year. But, one can always hope, right? Here they are.

While reading reviews of this game, you might see the words “roguelike”, “mystery dungeon”, “hard”, “unforgiving”, etc. These words all but sum up the experience of the game, but not in a negative way. Read on to find out if this game is worthy addition to the Atlus library or not.

Final Fantasy III Review July 20, 2007

A few years back, a small company released a NES game called Final Fantasy. This game would wither make or brake the company, as it was truly their “Final Fantasy”. The game was a major hit, and since then, we have seen 12 (or 13?) Final Fantasy games, many more spinoffs, remakes and games that played off FF’s success. We’ve seen the games on every possible platform from the NES to the Gameboy to the PS, PS2, DS, etc. A few years back, Square decided to remake the only FF game that we never saw here in the United States, Final Fantasy 3. How does the game compare to modern RPGs on the DS? Read on to find out. (more…)

SV/LYoHS/AfGSVGWB Stage 2: DS Round 1 Complete! May 28, 2007

I’ve decided to put the DS games in their own category, and I’ve finished the first game this stage, Super Princess Peach. Super Princess Peach is the Mario game for girls, younger gamers, and the casual gamer alike. The game is very similar to New Super Mario Bros. but - like I will stress in the review - a lot easier. The game begins with a magic scepter of emotions going off, giving everyone heigtened emotions, allowing Bowser to capture Mario, thus the game being called “Super Princess Peach”, and not “Super Prince Mario” (which is slightly gay). How was the game? Is it okay for guys, or older gamers? Read on to find out. (more…)

The second installment of this great series that tells the Star Wars story using only LEGOs. This time around, we follow the story of Episodes IV, V, and VI, with the classic characters like Luke, Han, Leia, etc. This is also the first time the series comes to the DS. Does the game live up to the mega films its based on? Read below to find out.

It’s been a long while since I’ve played a Digimon game. The last one I owned was Digimon World 3 on the Playstation. I guess I just got too old for Digimon, as this is probably the last one I’m going to buy. Enjoy the review!

New Super Mario Bros. Review March 2, 2007

Well, I beat the game a while back, but I’m just now getting to the review, enjoy!

Graphics: Due to the fact that this is on the DS, most people believed that it would offer 2d sprites, just like any other Mario game. However, NSM uses beautiful 3d graphics that look like they came straight from SM64, in a sidescrolling game. Although the idea is rather new, it works really well, and it was the next logical step for the Mario series. While most games that take the leap from 2d to 3d are scary, NSM takes the transition quite well.

Gameplay: Well, this game has the same gameplay of any other Mario game in existence with a few differences. First off, there’s no “Raccoon cap”, “leaf”, or any flying powerups. Second, there’s bosses other than just Bowser. Besides those two facts, there’s really not any differences, you still jump on enemies to kill them, you still one use two buttons (A and B), and there’s still the insane amount of secrets that only a hardcore Mario fan could find. Although it’s missing some of my favorite powerups, there are some new ones, including the huge mushroom, the tiny mushroom, and the blue shell. NSM takes the great gameplay of previous games, and builds on it, making this game one of the best in the series.

Play/Replay Value: I played the game for about 12 hours, I’m guessing. I beat the main game relatively quick (four or five hours), but getting all the stars and secrets took a lot longer. For the average gamer, this could last longer, or shorter, depending on his/her devotion. As for replay, I probably won’t replay the whole game through, but I will pick it up from time to time to randomly play some levels.

Will I Buy the Sequel?: If they make a NSMB2, I might get it, for now my sights are set on Yoshi’s Island.

Rent or Buy?: Buy this game now, or you’ll forever regret it.

Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime Review January 13, 2007

The latest Dragon Quest game in America is a great game, and one of the few action/adventure games for the system. Besides that, this game is one of the funniest games I’ve ever played, and features cammeos, or references to a lot of other games/systems/people, making it that much funnier (Like Harvest Loon, or DQ: Swordz).

Mega Man’s first original adventure on Nintendo’s handheld system is one of the best games available, and is a great addition to the franchise.
