Why the Break and The Resolutions January 2, 2008

Like the title implies, I took a small break from the site. Not for thinking things over, or anything sissy thing like that. It’s just that I’ve been insanely busy lately. It got to the point that with Church, studying for web programming and doing the job I was at the middle/end of December, I was busy literally from 7am to around 10pm. Now that it’s all over, I have a little more free time to play some new games, work on web developing and writing posts like these. Anyways, here are my 2008 resolutions (some are really more just goals), besides a few I didn’t feel like putting on the Internet.

1. Read my Bible in one year. I’ve never done it before, so now’s the time.
2. Get OpenSource up and running. OS is my dream, and has been for a long time. It will eventually be a huge Web Developing tutorial resource.
3. Lose weight. I’ve let my weight get past me in the… past, and I’m honestly sick of it. I want to not only get down to a target weight, but also stay there consistently.
4. Learn to play piano with sheet music. I’ve been playing so long, and I still can’t do it 100%. I hope to dominate it somewhat by the end of the year.
5. Write six songs. I’ve written two songs with music and lyrics, and one with only music. I plan to write six songs over the course of the year.
6. Learn PHP, AJAX and master JavaScript. I can be considered an intermediate programmer with JS, so I’d like to learn the other two and master JS.
7. Start on the Mysterious RogueLike. My life long dream (even longer than OS) is to write my own Roguelike. I’m going to try and some C learning in and start on my long-planned game. This is the only one that I imagine might not come about this year.

There you have it. A ton of info you didn’t really care about. I’ll be going over these at the end of this year, but that’s still a long way away.
