World Turned Upside Down September 7, 2007

Did you ever learn something that really shocked you? Something, that, as the title of this post implies, turned your world upside down (even if it was for only a few seconds)? No? How about hearing that Vader was Luke’s father? Or how about Gandalf coming back from the dead (seemingly)?
We’ve all had those moments, no matter if it was a serious subject (like the above examples) or something less serious (like job-related or whatnot). And, in fact, I had one of those moments today. While reorganizing my books, I was glancing at my Darth Maul book, and I remembered the small Darth Maul e-book that was printed for first times in one of my other books.
While trying to locate the small story, I opened Cloak of Deception written by James Luceno. Inside the first few pages I happened to see the word Robotech. And, since one of my favorite anime shows is Robotech, and one of my favorite sci-fi book series is Robotech, I looked again.
Turns out the excellent author Jack McKinney (author of the Robotech series) is in fact James Luceno! Some might have known this fact, but it was a shock to me, as I always wanted more of McKinney’s books, but never found any.
The bottom line is this: actually there’s no bottom line, sorry. Just random info.
What’s the point in having a pen name if you tell people what it is? Or did he write under that name a while ago? Also, have you heard about the Robotech movie? I have little to no hope for it being good.
The first book was in ‘87, two years before me. And, no I hadn’t heard about the movie, do you know if it’s supposed to be real, anime, cg?
Actually, I had no hope for the Transformers movie, but I really loved it. Probably the best movie I’ve seen this year (maybe under SM3). Not that that has anything to do with the current topic… Veritech fighters are similar to transformers, I guess.
I think it’s supposed to be live action (well, the people at least), but I’m not entirely sure.
