Excited About Making the Leap July 26, 2007

A while back, I had set my mind on getting a PSP. However, I put that idea away due to the fact that it was over my budget. Now, however, with the recent price drop, I’ve made the leap and purchased (well, almost) a PSP for a combined Christmas/Birthday present (when you live where I live (PSPs are over $300 here) you have to think about Christmas and birthdays way before they even come up). Plus, it’s my last Christmas/Birthday at home, so it’ll be extra special.

I’m really looking forward to the games I’m gonna get, I tried to get an even amount of each genre. There’s classic platforming action (Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter), a replayable action RPG with multiple characters, (Dungeon Siege) and a more leisurely game to play whenever I’m sick of harder games (Innocent Life: Harvest Moon). These games should get me through till my next time in the States.

Now, the thing I most excited about is the extra stuff you can do with the machine. You can use it as an MP3 player (I’ll be discussing my odd aversion to MP3 players in this week’s Yay or Nay), as an image viewer, a movie viewer (probably won’t use it for that at all, though) and an Internet browser among other things. This is great.

All in all, I’m really excited about getting the system (even though I won’t get it for another… six months). I like the idea of being a handheld-only gamer. Plus, Ill be the first of my brothers to have a PSP (the only to have a DS, also :))
